After Roger Ailes, Fox News Reaches Settlements

Gabriel Sherman, national affairs editor at New York Magazine and the author of The Loudest Voice in the Room: How the Brilliant, Bombastic Roger Ailes Built Fox News — and Divided a Country (Random House, 2014), talks about his latest reporting on the Roger Ailes/Fox News story, and the network’s settlement with Gretchen Carlson.

Fox News was negotiating with Gretchen Carlson and two other, unnamed employees, finally reaching settlements with all women on Tuesday and spending $20 million to settle the lawsuit brought by Carlson.

Following the settlement, Greta Van Susteren, one of the network's best-known and longest-serving hosts, announced her immediate departure from the network. Fox's star hosts, Bill O'Reilly and Megyn Kelly, have contracts that will expire next year, prompting speculation of a mass exodus.
