Charlie Nicholas was a sensationally impish, creative and uplifting footballer for Celtic, Arsenal, Aberdeen and Scotland. These days he's a Soccer Saturday legend on Sky Sports most Saturdays alongside Jeff Stelling, Paul Merson, Matt Le Tissier and Phil Thompson.What inspired me to choose Charlie for this information is partly the fun he gave me during his playing career [have I mentioned the mighty Dandies before?] partly the fact that back in 1988 he was one of my first ever football interviews .... but also the thought that many, nowadays, know him far more for his TV work than for what a magical football presence he was in the 1980's and 1990's.
