Over objections from the majority Republicans in the Senate, President Obama has nominated Merrick B. Garland to the Supreme Court.
WNYC's All Things Considered host Jami Floyd, an attorney by training who has vetted judges for the Clinton administration, said Garland's reputation as a moderate wouldn't make him an ideal choice of any of the Democratic presidential candidates, especially the far-left-leaning Bernie Sanders. With Republicans expected to delay hearings for Garland's nomination, the next president could very well choose to proceed with or halt Garland's nomination.
