It’s been 71 years since the Chicago Cubs were in the World Series. Whether you’re a fan of baseball or not, it’s easy to see why this is a big deal for our home city– it’s as if a magical curse has finally been lifted.
Even though the Cubs made it into the World Series, some believe they still won’t win because of the Curse of the Billy Goat, placed on the team by tavern owner Billy Sianis after being kicked out of the 1945 World Series at Wrigley Field because he brought his smelly pet goat Murphy to watch the game.
Today, we take a look at curses- the Curse of the Billy Goat, the Curse of the Pharaohs, the 27 Club, the Sinatra Curse, the curse surrounding the horror film Poltergeist and the gayest curse of all curses- the Curse of Purse First.
