Ash Wednesday: Lent is a Bummer
The ashes, dust, and disciplines of Lent are tough for a culture that seeks perpetual happiness. Lent is about reversing course, changing, and growth . These things are difficult. We would rather hold on to dysfunction than do the hard work of transformation. God indeed loves us the way we are, but also calls us to become what we were called to be - and that means change and transformation guided by divine grace and power.
