This song speaks of the beautiful flowers of the island, like the Lokelani Rose, Mokihana, Kukui, Violet, and `Ilima Blossoms, and how they adorn his beautiful sweetheart. Nā `Ono O Ka `Āina by Edith Kanaka`ole. Speaks of the different varieties of the Kalo, or Taro Plant, staple starch of Hawaii’s traditional diet. The Kalo, in ancient tradition, is the older brother of the human race.
