My journey as the 49ers Fangirl began on January 14, 1990. It was on that day that as a young girl, I traveled to San Francisco with my family for the 1989 NFC Championship game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams. A native Angeleno, I was rooting for the Rams. Then at some point, in the middle of the second quarter, I turned to my mom and said, “I love Joe Montana.” And that was it. I became a die-hard, gold-blooded Niner Faithful and never looked back. Tracy Sandler and San Francisco 49ers and 49ers Fan GirlAs a teenage girl, I watched every game, dressed in good luck outfits on game days – even if those days were Monday and I had school, educated my teenage girlfriends about Steve Young and Elvis Grbac, while discussing Tom Rathman, Jerry Rice, and Ricky Watters with my teenage guy friends. I cried when the Niners lost to the Giants in the 1990 NFC Championship game – damn Matt Bahr field goal! Instead of a Sweet 16, I went to Dallas for the NFC Championship game, which did not turn out nearly as well as the Rams game...

[Podcast EP #57] The Coach. The QB. The Record. Talking 49ers with Tim Kawakami.

The San Francisco 49ers are now 0-4 after losing in heartbreaking fashion to the Arizona Cardinals. They have lost their last three games by a combined total of eight points, which means they’re close, but they can’t seem to finish games. This team is in a rebuild and that’s the difference between good teams and building teams. Good teams have playmakers that can make the game-winning plays; rebuilding teams are still looking for it. On this week’s Talking Touchdowns podcast, Steph (http://www.twitter.com/SoCaliSteph) and I (http://www.twitter.com/49ersfangirl) are joined by Tim Kawakami (http://www.twitter.com/TimKawakami), Editor-in-Chief of The Athletic SF, to talk all things 49ers. Tim gives us a lot insight, including: - The keys factors in Sunday’s loss and what the 49ers are missing Brian Hoyer vs. C.J. Beathard - An interesting thought of what the 49ers could potentially do sooner rather than later at quarterback - The main reason for all those penalties, and it may not be what you think - How much patience the organization is going to have with Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch (hint: a lot) - And the secret to Tim unblocking you on Twitter. Tim was a fantastic guest, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Thanks for listening! And as always, Go Niners! - Subscribe to my podcast here (49ersfangirl.com/iTunesSubscription) Subscribe to my channels for the latest 49ers news: www.fangirlsportsnetwork.com/49ers-fangirl www.facebook.com/49ersfangirl www.twitter.com/49ersfangirl www.instagram.com/49ersfangirl www.instagram.com/ninerpups
