DJ MAGNUS

Melbourne-born and bred, DJ Magnus clearly communicates an infectious passion for music through the decks. If you missed his debut gig at Cairns Tropical Pride in 2007, he may well have had you sweating it out at Big Gay Day (Brisbane), I Remember House (Sydney / Melbs), Midsumma T-Dance (Melbourne), CoastOut (Coffs Harbour), ChillOut (Daylesford), Christchurch Pride (NZ), Rebel Bar (Melbs / Sydney), Broken Heel Festival (Broken Hill), Geelong Rainbow Festival, Tropical Fruits Festival (Lismore), or at the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras AfterParty. His signature sound of uplifting vocal House and an instinct for reading a crowd whilst delivering goosebumps on the dance floor, have earned him a respected place as one of Australia's finest House music DJs. However, he also shows fantastic versatility by playing Deep House and Trance for his fans. He's held residencies all over Australia, including The Wickham / White Wolf (Brisbane), Daywash / Hot Kandi / ARQ / The Colombian (Sydney), Rock City / Sircuit / The GH / Sundaylicious, Viper Room, The Peel (Melbourne), and Flamingos (Hobart)...

Rebel Heart Reworked

Amid the mass leak from the Material Girl’s 13th album in late 2014, albeit 32 tracks in total, she released the album for pre-order on iTunes on December 20th, with 6 tracks being available for download.

Rebel Heart was co-written & co-produced with Diplo, Kanye West & the late Avicii. Thematically, Rebel Heart represents the singer's romantic and rebellious sides; the ideas grew organically during the writing and recording sessions. Musically, it is a pop record which merges an array of genres such as 90’s house, trap, and reggae, while using acoustic guitars and gospel choir. Some of the songs are autobiographical in nature while others talk about love and Her career.

To promote the album, Madonna made several television appearances and performances. Further promotion was done by the Rebel Heart Tour, which started in September 2015 & concluded in March 2016, visiting North America, Europe, Asia & Australia, including Her unique MTV-unplugged-style “Tears of a Clown” performance in Melbourne, which I was fortunate enough to see!

I’ve chosen 13 tracks from the album, including the 4 single releases & one extra-funky mashup.

So, to all my Rebel Hearts thank YOU from the bottom of MY Rebel Heart for listening & loving my Reworked series! It’s been an absolute joy to bring them to you. As always, it’s mixed & made with love, so enjoy MY gift to you, on this my 48th Birthday!
