Finding Christmas in Taipei, Taiwan
Seems like there's less decorations for Christmas this year in Taipei. I went on a search to find signs of Christmas. Granted Taiwan doesn't officially acknowledge Christmas as a holiday and the culture is definitely geared toward Chinese celebrations and rituals being an island of Buddhist/Taoist followers mostly. Still it's usually recognized by the retail and commercial industries. Often people will have a Christmas party at work, or go out with the family on Christmas Day but I would compare it to Halloween in importance and the way it's viewed. Usually though the shopping and entertainment districts will deck the halls and offer lots of opportunities for people to come out and take selfies, as you can see in the video. Hope you enjoy following my awkward journey to find Christmas in Taipei!
