GM Word of the Week

You can’t spell Game Master without “pretentious.” Well, you can, actually. But let’s pretend you can’t so I can make a point. My point is a good Game Master needs a lot of big, fancy words at their disposal to make their flavor text as confusing as possible. Oops. I mean engaging, not confusing. Wattle and Daub

When you want to explain what your basic medieval peasant or serf lived in, many people assume they already know. They've seen it at least, in certain kinds of movies, surely.

But, if we've learned nothing else from GM Word of the Week, what we think we know, often turns out not to be so. And so, we must explain that very few peasants lived in anything that might be described as wattle and daub.  And, if you want to know what wattle and daub is, this is the episode for you. But be prepared for something of an education.
