I saw an aero plane today. Amazing. Elsa did not see it. She has left again. Spinster by the sea time-again. I doubt she will come back much better. Half senile and there will soon be tea. Forever. She is dependent on me to live but her mind is too far gone. She is wearing out, but being next to me keeps her body reasonably in shape. Without me she will fade away.
Perhaps I need to take command. To press on to victory. To be the strict and unforgiving judge and jury. Being merciless is a kind of relief. And who would I take my war and my judgement to? Sweet Donovan? So silly of me picking a lover that was afraid of the dark.
