Introduction

DF: You are listening to languagecaster.com’s football-language podcast. Welcome everyone to the podcast for all lovers of the beautiful game of football, and those who want to improve their English language skills. My name’s Damian and I am in London on a rainy Sunday evening at the end of another weekend of great football action. Now, of course usually Damon is with us but he is still travelling so hopefully next week we will hear from him again. No doubt he will be happy after Liverpool’s easy win over Bournemouth yesterday that put his side back on top of the Premier League table. I didn’t manage to watch that game but I did see my favourite team Spurs win 3-1 against Leicester City today – a very nervy win indeed, while I also saw Manchester City absolutely demolish Chelsea  6-0, Chelsea were hit for six by City. The top of the Premier League table now sees City and Liverpool both on 65 points – City lead on goal difference – followed by Spurs in third place five points behind. An exciting title race indeed.
