Women rights score a victory in Cameroon


Traditionally male-led chiefdoms in northern Cameroon have begun recognising women in crucial decision-making positions. We hear Senator Paul Nkwi, a university professor teaching Anthropology. African leaders are meeting in Nairobi to exchange ideas on how to tackle extremism on the continent. It comes as the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres highlighted terrorism and violent extremism as a problem affecting a growing number of countries in Africa. We hear from Aya Chebbi, the first African Union Youth Envoy and the youngest diplomat at the African Union Commission Chairperson's Cabinet. As a Global Conference for Media Freedom is underway in London, Tanzania's Foreign Minister, Professor Paramagamba Kabudi, defends the country's record on press freedom - saying the government has never tried to stop journalists from doing their job.
