In this interview, Dr. Nadia Fairbairn and Dr. Christy Sutherland discuss how to treat opioid use disorder with injectable opioid agonist treatments. They also discuss the opioid epidemic on a systemic level.Dr. Nadia Fairbairn is an internist who specializes in addiction medicine at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver and is director of the International Collaborative Addiction Medicine Research Fellowship with the BC Centre on Substance Use.Dr. Christy Sutherland is a family physician in downtown Vancouver who specializes in addiction medicine.
