"Come to me, I'll Give You Rest" - An Invitation, An Instruction, An Insight

Matthew 11:28, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29) "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30) "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

We all know about the importance of physical rest. We know how a lack of rest negatively affects us and how good rest brings refreshing and renewal. I pray the Lord gives you good rest, especially during this difficult season.

Jesus talked about a different kind of rest. Physical rest is connected to slowing down and sleeping.

Rest for your soul is connected to Christ. Jesus said three things:

1. He said, “Come to me.” - We can call this His: Invitation
2. He said, “Take my yoke and learn from me.” – We can call this His: Instruction
3. He said, “My yoke is easy and my burden in light.” - We can call this His: Insight
