Website https://whatwasthatlike.com/ Opinion I loved the way you started the show with the tease from Diane, and then you REALLY engaged the theater of the mind. I could see the plane on the highway on fire. You had informed us of the stakes as the plane was on fire, and people were dead. You really pulled me into the story. Then you took a hard right to do some housekeeping. Then you went back to Diane and started from the beginning of the story. I'm not sure how to "fix" this. You did a great job with the story as a tease, but almost too good (maybe make the setup shorter?) or just start the interview with Diane at the time of the wreck (instead of the details of the type of plane, and where she lived, etc).

I've listened to the episode (full) already and I did love that as I was listening I knew Diane (obviously) had lived, but I wasn't sure if she could walk or not. You kept me guessing and wondering "what happens next?." I would move the housekeeping either to "post-interview" or do it before you start anything about the story (which would not be my first choice). For me the problem was you did too good a job creating a theater of the mind of the crash at the beginning.
