How Prophets Keep Christ in Christmas: No Worship without Justice
In this message, Pastor Mark focuses on Isaiah 1:2-20 to explain how God rejects our religiosity unless our personal piety is connected to social justice. God calls us "seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, and plead the cause of the widow." This means going beyond the requirements of personal morality and fighting against institutionalized evil. It means choosing the side of the poor, the oppressed, and the marginalized, advocating for them, and fighting for fair and equal treatment. It means embracing the sacred worth of all people. Anything short of this makes our worship an abomination to God.
