I've been working on and off on this episode for a while, but I eventually decided I needed to not be such a perfectionist about it and to just admit that I'm probably going to get a bunch of things wrong in it.
This week's show is about the Japanese subgenre known as visual kei, which, in many ways, isn't even an actual genre, more a loose association of bands based on a visual aesthetic.
Anyhow, here's three hours walking me through some of the history of visual kei, many of the players, talking about its beginnings, the waves - first, second, third, neo - and about how the genre still lives today. It's a big show, it's not for everyone, but give it a go, and maybe you'll learn something.
