#20-29: Missing the Festivals, Pt. 1

This has been a strange summer. Those of us who enjoy music festivals and workshops have suffered quite a loss. For the next two shows, we’ll travel back in time to some of our most revered festivals with recordings made from the stage. This week, we’ll feature a portion of Pete Seeger’s set at the very first Newport Folk Festival in 1959. We’ll also travel to Newport to hear the Rev. Gary Davis, The Jim Kweskin Jug band, and Earl Scruggs and Hylo Brown. And we’ll visit the Brandywine Mountain Music Convention and Clifftop. It’s off to the festivals … this week on The Sing Out! Radio Magazine.
