Today would have been the 28th birthday of Laura Brennan.
The HPV vaccine campaigner, who passed away in March 2019, was the most prominent figure in the campaign which successfully led to a reversal of the trend of a fall-off in the take-up of the vaccine.
After her death, Minister Simon Harris said that her work had saved "thousands of lives."
This past February, the HSE announced that the WHO target of 80% uptake for the vaccine would be met, and that the uptake rate in Clare was 90%.
Vaccines are being offered to first year boys and girls around now.
Laura's parents, Larry and Bernie Brennan, spoke to Gavin Grace on Wednesday's Morning Focus.
