Financial Advice - Home Improvements Without Debt

Have you tried to get an electrician or carpenter for any job in your business or home recently? They are like hen’s teeth! Many retailers have been caught off-guard by coronavirus restrictions and shifting consumer habits, but DIY stores are enjoying a boom as people spend money on their homes and gardens. Data has shown consumers worldwide are cutting back on clothing and shoes but spending more to improve their homes. If you are considering work on your house, don’t go further into debt. There may be lots of areas you’d like to improve in your home but adding debt to your circumstances is never a good idea. You may still be paying off your mortgage and could also have car loans, credit cards or other personal debts. Why compound the issue? Instead, try and save some money to create the finances needed. It may take some planning and require some small personal sacrifices, but in the long run you will be in a better position financially once the project has been completed. On Tuesday's Morning Focus, Gavin Grace spoke to Tommy Corbett from Carey Corbett financial solutions about undertaking home improvements, without going into debt.
