episode 148: The Cycling Podcast Féminin | Episode 29

In the November episode of The Cycling Podcast Féminin Richard Moore, Orla Chennaoui and Rose Manley discuss the latest events in women's cycling.

There's an interview with Lucy Kennedy of Australia and Mitchelton-Scott at the recent Taiwan KOM Challenge, which she won, and we hear from French rider Audrey Cordon-Ragot on her move from Wiggle-High5 to Trek-Segafredo.

Rachel McKinnon recently became the first trans woman to win a world cycling title, taking gold in the sprint in the 35-44 age group at the UCI Masters Championships. We discuss the possible implications for women's sport and speak to Madeleine Pape, a former runner turned academic and an authority on efforts by sports bodies at gender verification, including setting levels of testosterone for female athletes. "Gender verification," she has said, "whether it relies on genetics, DNA, hormones, or gonads, is destined to fail."

There's also an interview with Isabel Best, author of a new book, Queens of Pain: Legends and Rebels of Cycling.

The Cycling Podcast Féminin is supported by Rapha, Skoda and Science in Sport.
