In this episode we also welcome Ari to the team! Ari was interviewed in Episode 15 and this week they are now officially the third member of the Vienna Jewcast. They briefly explain why they want to join, what they’re looking forward to doing on the podcast, and share some of their passions with Anja, Roni, and YOU, dear listeners!
Ari is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns in English. In German, they use the neopronouns sier/sien/siem. In case this is new to you, here are some examples on how to use these pronouns:
1.) Das ist dier Ari—sier ist fantastisch.
2.) Roni und Anja haben sien um Hilfe gebeten.
3.) Dieses Buch gehört siem, aber ihr könnt es gerne ausborgen.
Ari also uses masculine or neutral nouns in German, such as “Lehrer” or “Person.” When in doubt, just use their name “Ari!” and ignore pronouns altogether.
