episode 89: DR. STACEY PATTON'S "WHY WHUPPING YOUR KIDS WON’T SAVE BLACK AMERICA"
As a child, I was whupped by those in black adult female bodies who raped me. They whupped me without my parents knowledge at the time, without my parents' consent at the time, they never met my parents, and they never interacted with my parents. There was no such as "the village" for the most part in my childhood. The only village I had at that time was my Grandma Clara and school. From personal experience, there are some black folks (black child abusers) who hijack old school black culture. They may not whoop for the same reasons that you whoop. Unfortunately, many people make hate look like love. Tragically, defending wrong happens.
Why aren't old-schoolers whooping adults? Adults are the main ones keeping everyone from having health care!
I must say that if adults cannot get whooped, neither should children (children truly can't consent to whoopings.) Besides, you're not struck every time you misbehave in the real world. I'd say removal of privileges is the most consistent proper disciplinary method when it comes to real life.
Growing up I heard: Exodus 20:12: “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you." I also heard Ephesians 6:1-3:"1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
But I did not hear: Ephesians 6:4 "4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." That applies to mothers too. Why can't adults and children honoring each other be considered equally important? I think the lack of equal importance is one of the causes of child abuse.
I don't think old-schoolers should go around telling any and everyone that they whoop kids. My relatives should have never told me which of my cousins got whooped growing up. Children are entitled to the human right of privacy. The whole "you can't close doors' in my house can be one of the causes of child sex crimes.
Instead of trying to prove how grown and sexy you are, you ought to be leading through service and sacrifice?
