Referred to as "David Foster Wallace reincarnated as a sound engineer" and "wildly talented" by various publications, Wendel Patrick has made a significant impact in the music industry. As a music producer, he has gained international recognition for his albums "Sound," "Forthcoming," "JDWP," "Passage," and "Travel," all of which were produced without sampling, with Patrick playing every instrument note by note electronically. Beyond music production, he impresses audiences with his performances on stage, whether playing classical and jazz piano, beatboxing, or DJing with his band. Wendel Patrick's talents have taken him on tours across Europe and collaborations with renowned spoken word artist Ursula Rucker. Additionally, he co-founded the Baltimore Boom Bap Society, known for its improvised hip-hop shows with talented musicians and emcees. Notably, the group's collaboration with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra on Igor Stravinsky's "The Soldier's Tale" earned them recognition as the "Best Mesmerizing Performance of 2016." Wendel Patrick is not only a skilled musician but also an avid photographer and videographer, with his work exhibited in prestigious art galleries. He is a professor at The Peabody Music Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University, where he teaches "Hip Hop Music Production: History and Practice," a pioneering course at a major traditional music conservatory in the United States. Recently named the new host of the "Artworks" television program on Maryland Public Television/PBS, Wendel Patrick continues to leave a lasting impact on the world of music and the arts.
