00:01  intro
You're listening to amid
00:01
life less ordinary, the weekly
00:05
podcast giving you the lowdown
00:05
on becoming a cool older dude.
00:11
The good times are not a faded
00:11
memory. It's time to start
00:15
living them again. And here are
00:15
your hosts Wayne and Travis.
00:25  Wayne
Yeah, hello and welcome
00:25
back to a mid life less
00:28
ordinary. And now we're here
00:28
with season free. My name is
00:31
Wayne and some things are the
00:31
same. Hello, drove season three.
00:36
Here we go. You wouldn't believe
00:36
it? Which or you didn't think
00:39
we'd get to Episode Three? Did
00:39
you?
00:41  Trev
I didn't think we get to
00:41
Episode Two. airline three. I
00:45
know we are. Yeah, yeah.
00:47  Wayne
We've killed ourselves
00:47
about them. Yeah. And things are
00:50
changing. I believe. You're
00:50
making errors if I tell you what
00:54
you got to do. I mean, I don't
00:54
tell anyone no one tells Trev
00:57
what to do is SBI don't actually
00:59  Trev
listen to you. No, you
00:59
don't do you do like you do put
01:02
in the ground lines out. You do
01:02
pull them out artists. I listen.
01:06
I'm a rebel,
01:07  Wayne
where you are right. In
01:07
this case, it's about as correct
01:09
as you've ever been. But yes,
01:09
some things have changed. Season
01:13
free. We've been listening to
01:13
you guys you wrote into us. And
01:18
we've listened. And basically
01:18
you told us what you like about
01:21
the show. What maybe aren't your
01:21
favourite bits. We've obviously
01:25
had subject orientated episodes.
01:25
And now Trevor and I have
01:29
decided after conferring with
01:29
our audience that we should do
01:33
kind of a magazine show trover a
01:33
bit like a box of quality street
01:38
episode a bit of every Very much
01:39  Trev
so. So quality street
01:39
roses celebrations here, I
01:43
suppose in favour.
01:44  Wayne
Oh, if we're going there
01:44
now that's a difficult one. It's
01:47
obviously a Christmassy thing,
01:47
but I'm a quality st man myself.
01:50
How about you?
01:52  Unknown
Oh, geez. I think you
01:52
just you're old we are Yeah,
01:56
exactly. The older ones. Yeah.
01:56
Used to heroes and celebrations.
01:59
Oh, no, no, that's
02:00  Wayne
right. I don't like them.
02:00
They were they're just miniature
02:02
ones of the great stuff that
02:02
used to disappoint disappointed
02:08
somebody goes to want a hero.
02:08
I'm like, why have you give me a
02:10
miniature bounty? I'd like a
02:10
full size bounty feed, please.
02:13
You know, you don't want
02:13
bounties at all they need to get
02:15
in the bin. No, no, no, no, no,
02:15
I'm not having. I'm not having
02:20
this controversy. And the third
02:20
season. This is meant to be a
02:22
celebration of the podcast, how
02:22
well it's done. We're listening
02:26
to our audience, you know, you
02:26
can get with the programme. But
02:29
chocolate is something we're
02:29
going to actually I think that
02:32
we chose chocolate to talk about
02:32
chocolate. Okay. People
02:36
chocolate, it does not have
02:36
darker cheese or dark or milk.
02:40
Not all fruit and nuts. It's all
02:40
these questions that people ask
02:44
anyone.
02:45  Trev
Just Just drop back for a
02:45
minute. Yeah, tell everybody
02:48
what we're going to do. Okay,
02:48
okay,
02:50  Wayne
you started the chocolate
02:50
thing. I didn't start the
02:52
chocolate fan. I just said a box
02:52
of quality straight Episode
02:55
Three. This guy, you're arguing
02:55
with me already. It's only one
02:58
minute into season three doesn't
02:58
take three minutes. Honestly, I
03:02
wanted two years off just to get
03:02
you know, just to get my head
03:06
together after work and retrieve
03:06
it does my head. But yeah, we
03:09
breaking up the show into
03:09
segments, we're still going to
03:12
have interviews now. And again,
03:12
we're going to have people on,
03:16
there's not going to be a
03:16
subject based on the person
03:18
we're interviewing anymore. It's
03:18
going to be probably a 1015
03:22
minute interview where they're
03:22
promoting their album or, or
03:26
movie or product even. And we're
03:26
gonna have a chat with them. But
03:30
the episodes will still have the
03:30
segments in it we've chosen or
03:33
be chosen by our audience where
03:33
we're recommending certain
03:36
things. It might be a review of
03:36
the news for that week. And
03:40
movie review Music Review at all
03:40
review whatever it's going to be
03:44
but we'll break it up into we've
03:44
been forcing nearly exactly been
03:48
up to exactly what whatever
03:48
we've been up to. And then so I
03:53
think basically trips Should we
03:53
go straight into our first
03:56
strike with a new thing. I think
03:56
we should go straight with the
03:59
AML weekly white, which is a bit
03:59
of a homage to Charlie Brooker's
04:02
weekly wipe. We've basically
04:02
stolen his name of the show,
04:06
basically, because we're both
04:06
fans, Black Mirror fans, and
04:09
well, yeah, big massive beef.
04:09
Oh, yeah. We will talk about
04:12
Black Mirror. So at some point,
04:12
hopefully is a new season. Yes,
04:15  Trev
yeah, exactly.
04:16  Wayne
But yeah, big fans of
04:16
charlie brooker. So we thought
04:19
we'd call out our news review of
04:19
the week, the AML weekly wipe.
04:30
tribe or what have you found
04:30
interesting in the news this
04:33
week? I think one of the biggest
04:33
stories of the week has to be I
04:36
think everyone even not football
04:36
fans will understand this one
04:40
Cristiano Ronaldo at age 36,
04:40
rejoining Manchester United.
04:45
What do you think?
04:47  Trev
To be honest, he's past
04:47
his best. I know. I think
04:50  Wayne
everyone knows that even
04:50
those the top scorer in Syria
04:53
last year when he scored two
04:53
goals last night. Second stop.
05:01  Trev
That's completely wrong. I
05:01
agree. I think it's a little bit
05:06
of a marketing ploy. Yeah, I
05:06
think it's another thing to get
05:11
the money not exposed back on
05:11
track. After all, the pseudo EEG
05:16
stuff. Yes, exactly. But one
05:16
thing to be honest, when he was
05:23
with Manny not at first. That is
05:23
probably the biggest trip you
05:27
can you can play to any pie to
05:27
any player, you know, hated him.
05:32
Because he was just too good.
05:32
You know, he would just ruin
05:35
your team. You just knew he was
05:35
so good. And that's the thing
05:38
with him. I he's an amazing
05:38
footballer. He is an amazing
05:44
athlete. Yes. To look like that
05:44
at 36.
05:49  Wayne
Yes. Really? To be. Yeah.
05:52  Trev
Very, to be honest. When I
05:52
see with these top off in these
05:56
adverse I think that's just wine
05:56
with a different age with moods.
06:00
Yeah, yeah, he's that. Yeah. I
06:00
just think if wine was that
06:03
hard, he could look that good.
06:03
Yeah. He's got like, titties
06:09  Wayne
to play with.
06:12  Trev
Yeah, but yeah, it's
06:13  Wayne
big news. Everyone knows
06:13
about he is a great athlete. I
06:16
think he'll skills and I store a
06:16
lot of goals but not not Man
06:18
United needed. No, that's his.
06:20  Trev
Yeah. Very quickly. What I
06:20
will say about him is I think
06:25
he's an absolute role model for
06:25
kids.
06:28  Wayne
Yes. Because he's so
06:28
keeps himself so
06:31  Trev
dedicatee so thick. If
06:31
people want to be in a cage want
06:34
to be an expiring football on
06:34
thing? Was the template in that
06:40
is him is?
06:41  Wayne
I think you're right.
06:41
Trev I think you've actually
06:43
requested even I did like it but
06:43
now I do. Really? You can't help
06:47
it. You can't help but just
06:47
admire him because he's come
06:49
back as not as probably one of
06:49
the best players ever.
06:52  Trev
That phrase is used way
06:52
too much. But he single handedly
06:58
won Portugal that European
06:58
Championship. Yes, didn't he?
07:01
Yeah, he did. Go and argue with
07:01
it. We will get people argue
07:04
with it. Now they
07:06  Wayne
did. Now he does he know
07:06
we know. Not very funny. He's
07:08
now the record score is at 190
07:08
caps with Portugal. He is won
07:13
the Ballon d'Or five, six times
07:13
or whatever it is a nice
07:17
argument. You know, I think he's
07:17
actually a more rounded better
07:20
player than more valuable than
07:20
Messi myself.
07:24  Trev
Personally, I was always
07:24
on the fence. We both of us are
07:27
on each other. But he's messy.
07:27
He's great. He's an amazing
07:30
footballer. He's not a game
07:30
changer.
07:32  Wayne
And even though there's
07:32
been some great players that met
07:34
Maradona and George yesterday
07:34
they did their career a bit now
07:37
Yeah, he's and he's done it he's
07:37
done it for 17 years so exactly
07:41
Good luck to you Cristiano
07:44  Trev
I think that the little
07:44
thing before the talking about
07:47
he was gonna join city man says
07:47
loadable that was just a dish to
07:52
stir the pot. It was just to get
07:52
a bit of public Yeah, there was
07:55
stuff ends up yeah, it's all
07:55
about it's so very clever. Oh,
08:01
very clever.
08:01  Wayne
But you just reminded me
08:01
because I'm looking at Trev on
08:04
the zoom call Trev about the
08:04
avenues you know in the last
08:07
week or so. is obviously the
08:07
from Afghanistan.
08:12  Trev
You're gonna get it you're
08:12
gonna say I look like a member
08:15
of the talent. I didn't say
08:15
that. You weren't you were
08:18
hinting at it.
08:20  Wayne
Yes,
08:21
I'm sorry. But
08:27
but but yeah, the big news is
08:27
they've made of it in
08:34
Afghanistan 20 years. bombs and
08:34
money being spent out there
08:41
America and then we've just left
08:41
it and the Taliban have come
08:44
back and just reclaimed it in
08:44
about a few days and danger it's
08:48
just it's just a tough Team
08:48
America have had enough I think
08:51
Joe Biden's actually said to me
08:51
the other day did you see
08:55
America are not the world's
08:55
police anymore now we can think
08:58
of is the field you can think of
08:58
everything leads to Team America
09:01
reverse does anything so
09:01
shocking, shocking. Things got
09:06
going on there you know,
09:06
trillions of pounds and dollars
09:08
wasted. Just to leave it as bad
09:08
as it was before No one's ever
09:12
succeeded there. I don't want to
09:12
get political about it because
09:16
no BS massive news we had to
09:16
mention in the other news is
09:20
obviously the Paralympics have
09:20
been very successful for GB
09:23
again, Dame Sarah story, I think
09:23
is now the most successful
09:26
Paralympian with 17 gold medals
09:26
well done something that's on
09:30
lumber and it's seven yes I mean
09:30
some of them do Cadena Cox she
09:36
she does cycling and she does
09:36
the 400 metres athletics as
09:39
well. I mean, they're making
09:39
like people like Roger black and
09:42
all these cyclists. Lambo what a
09:42
comedian Stan Bowman one told me
09:49
cycle Chris Bowman Is it
09:51  Trev
is it stable but terrible
09:51
was disliked
10:00  Unknown
Yeah, yeah, 17 MUJI,
10:00
that's that's the fee and that
10:05
is just something else
10:07  Wayne
is these these guys? You
10:07
know, the we're lucky actually
10:11
in GB. The National Lottery
10:11
funds are what pays for all
10:15
these athletes really do so well
10:15
that you know, the able bodied
10:19
Olympics and the Paralympics is
10:19
all funded by the National
10:23
Lottery. So if you keep buying
10:23
your tickets, yes, that's the
10:25
only challenge. Yeah, keep
10:25
dreaming, keep dreaming your
10:29
money. And when I say go over do
10:29
that or go on you go and sit in
10:33
corals on the corner with you
10:33
last and your kids won't be 18
10:38
that week. But yeah, I think
10:38
that pretty much sums up the
10:43
news for this week. Trev Yeah.
10:43
So Trev you'll be looking
10:47
forward to this segment. It's
10:47
the stream of the week all about
10:51
the TV. All your surfing. Yep.
10:53  Trev
Yeah, I love seeing
10:53
watching TV, you know, to our
10:56
natural net natural couch potato
11:12  Wayne
trif so what do you
11:12
recommend for our listeners this
11:15
week to watch as a stream on TV
11:15
or movie?
11:19  Trev
I've been watching a lot
11:19
of Disney plus Yeah. Yeah. I
11:24
actually was always a fan of the
11:24
Mandalorian Yeah, I've ever
11:29
owned a massive fan of your
11:29
brilliant bits of terrible other
11:33
but the making of I think he's
11:33
called images for the second
11:36
series is brilliant. Absolutely
11:36
brilliant. But then I think it
11:42
gets is good for me because I
11:42
like all the sort of backstage
11:47
production and directing and
11:47
what they did and what I where
11:50
the ideas come. It's really
11:50
good. I didn't know until
11:54
watching this which I was
11:54
shocked a bit that Robert
11:56
Rodriguez directly one of the
11:56
yesterday that he talks on the I
12:00
didn't know that which is very,
12:00
very odd. You know the fanboy
12:03
movies disappointed. As I love
12:03
what we're doing is he did the
12:08
Boba Fett one. Yeah. And he
12:08
talks about Bob affects you kind
12:13
of he's older than me and you
12:13
like we do, or we have done
12:18
because we obviously thought
12:18
that Boba Fett was pretty
12:20
ruined. Yeah, in the new ones.
12:20
But to be honest, he talks a lot
12:26
about the sort of Mystique under
12:26
the helmet. I've got something
12:30
else under my helmet. It's not
12:30
called mistakes. Not
12:32  Wayne
good. No. need to wash
12:32
more. I think cheddar
12:40  Trev
is terrible. Anyway, let's
12:40
get love. Anyway, yeah. He talks
12:44
about called slave one wars and
12:44
they he was his ultimate
12:47
favourite character. And he's
12:47
just not listening to us talk. I
12:51
actually had to rewind and watch
12:51
that would be again, because I
12:53
was like, you're one of us
12:53
rather. Because you make great
12:57
movies. I
12:57  Wayne
definitely have to
12:59  Trev
bear in bed in the series
12:59
for me. Cool. No,
13:02  Wayne
definitely. No, you like
13:02
all your special effects. And
13:05
behind the scenes. You're the
13:05
sort of guy watches all the
13:08
extras on all the blu rays and
13:08
DVD called geeks. Why they used
13:12
to exist. Yeah, called geeks, my
13:12
criterion geek
13:16  Trev
theory
13:19  Unknown
of like, kind of Lord
13:19
of the Rings. criteria. He
13:22
covers the coins in your stream.
13:22
Yes. What have you been
13:29
watching?
13:30  Wayne
So yeah, I'm not gonna
13:30
necessarily recommend this but
13:33
it's on there. It's on Netflix
13:33
at the moment. And it's a guy
13:36
that we both love Jason momoa a
13:36
very manly man you love him. I
13:40  Trev
know that I'd have sex
13:40
with him. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I
13:44
think I'd like to Yeah, but you
13:44
look at him and you just think
13:47
he's like a dog this man is
13:47
smiling.
13:50  Wayne
Quite easy and fella is
13:50
one step below on the acting
13:53
scale he has to take the parts
13:53
he's going to get given he's a
13:55
good man as you know. But in
13:55
sweet gal s on Netflix in the
14:00
moment the plot is I think
14:00
something like his wife is
14:05
passed from cancer or something
14:05
and he finds out that a
14:08
corporation you know a big
14:08
pharmaceutical could have
14:11
basically could have kept her
14:11
alive for longer by putting some
14:15
money buying some drug
14:15
experimental drug I've seen
14:19
you've seen that Yeah, yeah. And
14:19
basically goes after the
14:22
corporation because there's
14:22
something shady going on
14:24
somewhere we call corporate kind
14:24
of s not espionage as such it's
14:29
more like a sort of a action II
14:29
kind of filmed but he's daughter
14:31
plays a big part that was like
14:31
no more it's not great it's
14:35
you've seen it for it's not just
14:35
great is crap that Yeah, I'd say
14:41
about psi or at a name got I
14:44  Trev
think he's really it was a
14:44
bit the other thing that gets me
14:46
in it is he fights like a
14:46
commando or lioness is man, but
14:51
they don't do they give you a
14:51
description of what he why he
14:54
fights all that now he's
14:55  Wayne
not he's not like an ex
14:55
Green Berets right now he's more
14:59
like a aka gpsa and he's
14:59
working. No, no, no, he's not
15:04
like serving up socity bar but
15:04
he's like,
15:08  Trev
yeah, it's crap. But one
15:08
thing I will say for Jason momoa
15:11
he made me feel like I was the
15:11
most inferior man ever. Because
15:15
I watched that YouTube video I
15:15
did him. You wouldn't have word
15:20
man he don't really get
15:20
together. Anyway, let's get back
15:25
to a real man. Jason momoa he's
15:25
Yeah, I think you've seen it. He
15:30
did this YouTube video where he
15:30
drunk a pint of Guinness is a
15:34
big fan of Guinness llama self
15:34
love. We will men drink Guinness
15:38
watching now and again. On and
15:38
off. You do blackcurrant just to
15:42
show off. Anyway, get back to
15:42
another room man. He he next a
15:48
pint of Guinness, and then
15:48
frozen x target. And I was like
15:56
author wide ovaries watching it
15:56
has turned me on so much. You
16:01
play darts
16:01  Wayne
in the pub before
16:02  Unknown
and you're just playing
16:02
it with axes. axes is mainly
16:06
Have you seen Dart players?
16:06
Yeah, yeah. Okay. Yeah. Crap.
16:12  Wayne
Yeah. Basically, we're
16:12
not recommending that. But I
16:14
mean, it's on there. You never
16:14
know pass of an error free call.
16:18
You know, what else? What else?
16:18
Have you got any other
16:20
recommendations?
16:21  Trev
Because I'm such a big
16:21
Marvel fan. I've watched the
16:24
wife animated series, great
16:24
series. It was great. The
16:29
animation, great. Different
16:29
idea, different spin on it. I
16:34
wouldn't recommend I would
16:34
recommend it. But I wouldn't
16:37
recommend it to the average
16:37
cinema goer that just goes and
16:41
sees the big Marvel blockbusters
16:41
is quite different. You have to
16:44
be a bit geeky to know it.
16:44
Obviously, the watch shows a big
16:48
character. And I knew what the
16:48
watcher was because of a Marvel
16:52
geek. And he's like really quite
16:52
involved in the Silver Surfer
16:56
story, which is my biggest
16:56
thing. Apart from Dave, but
17:00
yeah, it's gave us a good
17:00
different spin on things. So
17:03
yeah. You know, is this the
17:03
Subarus songs so super soldier
17:09
serum that Captain America
17:09
should have taken by it goes in
17:12
our ageing car. So she becomes
17:12
this sort of super soldier from
17:16
the United Kingdom of Great
17:16
Britain. Yeah, it's good. Yeah,
17:21
and one of the things that's
17:21
really good about it, unlike a
17:24
lot of other animated things are
17:24
like, link to that kind of stuff
17:29
is basically they got all the
17:29
real voice talent to do all of
17:31
it. So Black Widow Ed, is the
17:31
Black Panther is David Busby.
17:39
And positive. Yeah, yeah. I
17:39
think I think dice jericoacoara
17:45
Yes.
17:48  Wayne
But yeah, sounds good.
17:48
Yeah. Gonna be a bit bigger. You
17:54
know, I think I can manage.
17:54
Apparently, I'm not manly,
17:57
geeky. Is this the opposite?
17:57
Isn't it? More or less? I
18:01  Trev
don't know anymore. It's
18:01
not was back in the day. non
18:04
binary? No. Yeah, yes. Fairy?
18:04
Really?
18:08  Wayne
Yes. We want liquid.
18:08
Yeah. Oh, thanks for that. Is
18:13
your review of me. I don't have
18:13
anything else. Fairy of the
18:16
week. But I'm just going to
18:16
finish on this week. It's been
18:20
out for a few weeks now again,
18:20
on Netflix. You can tell what I
18:23
pay for. But basically Blood Red
18:23
Sky a bit different you've seen
18:27
in
18:28  Trev
vampires. Yeah.
18:30  Wayne
Vampires bit different to
18:30
anything else. It's not your
18:33
typical vampire film. It's more
18:33
like that you've got it's kind
18:36
of it's a bit like the kind of
18:36
games that are out like the last
18:39
of us got virus he kind of
18:39
element to an illness and
18:44
basically, but you turned into a
18:44
vampire, not the kind of Blade
18:47
II type. Vampires you see the
18:47
jacket Where? Dance Music
18:52
Exactly. Not that kind of good.
18:52
Yeah, the rave Empire operation
18:57
I laid in the place. Yeah. Yeah,
18:57
that kind of thing. But it's,
19:05
it's a bit weird because it's
19:05
got like foreign language mixed
19:08
with British language in it as
19:08
well.
19:10  Trev
They have two films. May
19:10
reminded me of let the right one
19:15
in. Yeah, I can see at the same
19:15
design of vampire the bald
19:19
Nosferatu stuff. And in a weird
19:19
way without the Huber body of
19:25
snakes on the plane snakes
19:25
without Samuel Jackson just go
19:29
for me. It was good. Yeah, it
19:29
was Yeah. On a vampire film,
19:35
yeah.
19:36  Wayne
It was definitely
19:36
different. You know, noir is not
19:40
like my you know, but it but it
19:40
was, I mean, amongst all the
19:44
sort of, unfortunately,
19:44
especially Netflix, they've
19:47
they're putting the money up for
19:47
a lot of films, they're putting
19:49
up 25 million, and a lot of the
19:49
time they're paying 24 of it to
19:52
the main costs. And only a
19:52
million goes on the production.
19:58
Unfortunately, Crawford now No,
19:58
no in that film, that's why I'm
20:01
saying that's not one of the
20:01
films like back here. And I've
20:05
seen that you said he was
20:05
terrible. I just, it's just not
20:08
good. It's just it's not great.
20:08
I mean, you might find something
20:10
if they're all Netflix films,
20:10
most of them are sort of five
20:14
out of 10 there's nothing really
20:14
great about them. I've seen some
20:18
roughly entertained, I just wish
20:18
they'd, you know, spend the
20:21
money more wisely. But you know,
20:21
still we like what you do
20:24
Netflix, I prefer it just
20:24
because I can't be bothered to
20:27
get my movies from anywhere.
20:27
Just flicking for you spend most
20:29
of your time on Netflix is
20:29
flicking.
20:31  Unknown
Yeah. Very quick. I do
20:31
find there's a lot more
20:34
interesting stuff on Amazon.
20:34
Yeah, I
20:37  Wayne
think you're right. If
20:37
you go deep and
20:38  Trev
go deeper with them is one
20:38
thing that really winds me up
20:40
about Amazon, please do pay the
20:40
money for Amazon Prime. And
20:45
don't get me wrong. The delivery
20:45
of stuff is great for me,
20:48
because I'm always adding stuff
20:48
to it. But you think oh, I'll
20:52
watch that old film. And then
20:52
you got to pay for 50? Yeah,
20:57
I'll watch the old film for a
20:57
pound 50. They don't really give
21:01
you a lot. But there's some good
21:01
ones
21:04  Wayne
that are included with
21:04
the prime
21:06  Trev
films that you could just
21:06
see. And to be honest, you can
21:09
probably buy them secondhand off
21:09
Amazon for like 60 players will
21:13
charge you free. Just and you
21:13
can only Yeah, I'm not paying
21:18
three pound 50 just watching
21:21  Wayne
the business models.
21:23  Trev
Now I sound tight, but
21:23
it's done. Bye Bye now.
21:25  Wayne
Times have moved on we
21:25
Yeah, the world is now but yeah,
21:30
that's our recommendations for
21:30
TV and movies this week. We like
21:34
to have some more for you this
21:34
time next week. So our interview
21:38
this week is with somebody very
21:38
familiar to Trev is Trevor's
21:42
Bearded Villains Captain Jimmy
21:42
Starling here to tell us about
21:46
the big villains on see event
21:46
where they raise lots of money
21:49
last week. So Jimmy, thanks for
21:49
joining us. You've had a very
21:53
successful villains on see last
21:53
weekend lots of money raised a
21:57
good time was had by all what
21:57
would you like to say about it?
22:01  Unknown
Well, first, I just
22:01
want to say a big thank you to
22:05
all the addict, and especially
22:05
Sarah, the manager, as you know,
22:10
for putting up with about 100
22:10
blokes descending onto their
22:14
place. But it was just a great
22:14
day all the staff, an expert,
22:18
just fantastic. You know,
22:18
really, really good, great
22:24
turnout. And I think it was one
22:24
of these things that was much
22:28
needed after 18 months of being
22:28
in lockdown. Not being able to
22:33
see your friends in you know
22:33
your brother's car, and meeting
22:39
up for the first time. slyke
22:39
It's not the greatest feeling in
22:42
the world. Really?
22:45  Trev
To be honest, Jimmy, I
22:45
noticed that you could just feel
22:48
the relief. Yeah, people were
22:48
back in a room enjoying
22:52
ourselves. Obviously, obviously
22:52
GB is a captain of the Essex
22:56
guys. And I was co Captain then
22:56
that's another story because
23:00
avoid, pass the baton on two
23:00
ways. Who is our scout? who
23:04
deserves it as well. He's going
23:04
to be a great co Captain to
23:07
Jimmy and their work. Because
23:07
I'd like to think they're the
23:11
biggest shoes ever. And it's not
23:14  Wayne
true what they say about
23:14
big shoes in Trump's case he
23:17
does not know that. I know
23:17
obviously.
23:21  Trev
You'd be surprised on the
23:21
amount of sellotape by for us to
23:23
start talking about my monster
23:23
dick. Basically. Honestly, as
23:32
Jim said, The addicts were
23:32
brilliant to us. I've been
23:35
drinking their wine, obviously
23:35
had a few beverages me there as
23:39
well. But uh, now obviously
23:39
you're, you're a bit more you're
23:41
kept away on eg. Yeah. On the
23:41
other side. Yeah, exactly. So
23:51
yeah. And like, it was it was
23:51
really good. It was great. And
23:56
Nigeria probably know a bit more
23:56
what chap chapters a lot of the
23:59
guys were from. But we had a
23:59
really good turnout. It was just
24:02
shy him obviously, because
24:02
obviously, a lot of guys
24:06
couldn't fly over. Because when
24:06
we got he was postponed for two
24:08
years wasn't a gym. It was Yeah,
24:08
yeah. Before that. We had guys
24:14
from a lot of other countries
24:14
flying over for it. Which was a
24:19
shock, but it's one of those
24:19
things we adapted to it. And it
24:22
was a real success.
24:24  Unknown
It was worth it
24:24
considering because we obviously
24:27
got we got postponed because of
24:27
COVID. And I think one thing the
24:31
original venue that we had, I
24:31
think it was we were double
24:34
booked wormery. Yeah, we were
24:34
Yeah, we could we couldn't find
24:38
a venue quick enough in time, so
24:38
we both postponed it then COVID
24:42
came along and then we booked
24:42
the Alex Yeah, and then
24:45
obviously with with COVID. You
24:45
know, we didn't really get the
24:49
go ahead until sort of April,
24:49
which left a shorter notice for
24:55
us because obviously we planned
24:55
we wanted to do Black Beard
24:58
competition. We wanted to host
24:58
Supply auctions and and have
25:02
bands and stuff like that, but
25:02
we fought well probably is still
25:05
a bit techy war, you know
25:05
they're going to restrict the
25:07
capacity.
25:09  Trev
Jim, we wanted to be
25:09
careful with the safety side of
25:11
it. Yeah, to be clear that he
25:11
didn't want everybody coming
25:15
back just the one successful
25:15
knee. And all of a sudden
25:19
they've got a lot down there.
25:19
But yeah, it was. The chapters
25:27
were there. Obviously a lot,
25:27
virtually all of the Essex guys
25:31
were there. We had quite a few
25:31
from the London guys. Didn't we
25:34
turn up?
25:35  Unknown
We did. We had. We I
25:35
think we thought we had seven
25:40
chapters, which is using good
25:40
Turner. So we had Yes, we had
25:45
ethics. London, central England.
25:45
Yeah. East of England, East
25:50
Anglia, Northern monkeys. like
25:50
Dr. Evans. Yeah. We also have
25:56
one guy, one guy from Poland.
25:58  Trev
Yeah, Ireland. Who lives
25:58
in Cambridge, I think, because I
26:02
say thanks for coming over
26:02
Cambridge, from from Poland for
26:09
us, Mike, really appreciate you
26:09
in Cambridge. Coming from
26:13
Cambridge, for us, that's great.
26:13
But the good thing is,
26:19
obviously, a lot of guys have
26:19
got kids and families and like
26:23
Jimmy's, obviously a family man
26:23
as well. But to see the
26:27
generosity, that the brothers
26:27
and their partners and other
26:31
people because I was 50 just
26:31
before it. So we kind of
26:37
celebrated that as bit later on.
26:37
And the generosity for people
26:43
with a charity that we did,
26:43
because we have a friend of
26:47
mine, who runs garriage locally,
26:47
had a bit of a disaster, he had
26:54
his house burned down, lost
26:54
everything. So Jimmy, back me
26:59
up. We do a lot of merchandise
26:59
and T shirts, we had a T shirt
27:02
run for this. And I put 41 t
27:02
shirts in like a raffle kind of
27:07
tombola thing where people would
27:07
just pick stuff up. No one knew
27:11
what the T shirts were about the
27:11
sizes for a five pound each go.
27:16
And there was 41 in there. And a
27:16
special prize in there, which
27:19
was central England cap gave me
27:19
was good enough to donate some
27:23
patches as well, which we resold
27:23
them the dye, and all those t
27:28
shirts went apart from three of
27:28
them. And people would it was it
27:32
was a it was it was choking to
27:32
be honest. Yeah, this guy Steve
27:35
is burned down. So we raised
27:35
just over 200 pounds, 290
27:41
pounds, and we're going to make
27:41
up to 500 out of our charity
27:44
coffers. Because the guy you
27:44
know he's on his ass. But yeah,
27:48
it was the generosity. He would
27:48
just put money in the box
27:50
without taking stuff.
27:53  Unknown
And the great thing
27:53
about Bearded Villains, you
27:55
know, everyone, everyone come
27:55
out of a pandemics of money. You
28:00
know, people have been like,
28:00
what is the opportunity to like,
28:03
help someone and you don't think
28:03
that when you see like a beauty
28:06
to blow. You think oh, you know,
28:06
some sort of like reminiscence
28:10
of a biker gang. But no. They,
28:10
you know, they'll help out and I
28:15
think that's a great money.
28:17  Trev
And to be honest, Jim is
28:17
where everybody had a good time.
28:19
They had a few drinks and stuff.
28:19
And there was still a real pot.
28:23
There was no ounce not a touch
28:23
of animosity. Everybody's just
28:27
having a good time. We have one
28:27
of the guys. Bulldog who's VCG
28:32
central England. Oh, he I'm not
28:32
sure. He's not he's a London
28:36
boy. He's a London guy. He was
28:36
good enough to DJ he did a
28:39
fabulous job. He did a great. He
28:39
did a great job. Yeah, yeah, it
28:45
was a real success. And to be
28:45
honest, as a as a kind of part
28:48
in for me, obviously, I'm still
28:48
a villain, but the CO Captain
28:51
has been handed over now. For me
28:51
to kind of that be my last thing
28:56
in my home. Yeah, rah, rah. The
28:56
last thing was an amazing thing
29:04
to do in my hometown. Yeah,
29:04
definitely. Yeah, that was the
29:08
thing that filled me with a lot
29:08
of a lot of pride. To be honest.
29:12
It wasn't like Jimmy worked
29:12
tirelessly. There's no there's
29:16
no, I don't know anybody related
29:16
in the Bearded Villains that
29:21
dedicates all his time and knows
29:21
every every little thing about
29:27
it, and he knows everybody in it
29:27
and that's the guy was talking
29:31
here. He just knows. He just
29:31
knows. I'm a humble guy. You
29:39
might you really aren't I work
29:39
with you. Very close for those
29:43
two three years and it was
29:43
brilliant. Man. He didn't in my
29:46
wife. Big headed swollen world I
29:46
don't think we put a foot wrong.
29:50
We just run out I'm sorry, my
29:50
Yeah, good. Good job was he's
29:55
not there. No, because he really
30:00  Unknown
It's been great. It's
30:00
been great. And it's been an
30:01
honour to have you as my co
30:01
captain.
30:04  Trev
Yeah, cheers, right? Yeah.
30:04
Cuz obviously wine was supposed
30:07
to come, but he had other things
30:07
that popped up, which was a bit
30:10
awkward. Yeah, yeah, we won't go
30:10
into because of it. Yeah. Yeah.
30:17
But um, and obviously what white
30:17
had met me for a couple of weeks
30:21
anyway, so he knew what kind of
30:21
thing it was. Yeah. Yeah.
30:27  Wayne
You know what, he is
30:27
quiet, always feel free. You
30:30
guys have just reiterated it.
30:30
And Jimmy said, you should do
30:33
the preset, we spoke about it on
30:33
the episode we did about the
30:36
villains that, you know that,
30:36
you know, the perception would
30:40
be, you know, something to sort
30:40
of shy away from, but the
30:43
atmosphere and the generosity
30:43
and you just rightly said that
30:48
the charity and the Brotherhood
30:48
i think is the main thing that I
30:50
hear you guys
30:51  Trev
come around. Oh,
30:52  Wayne
yeah. You can't beat
30:52
that. You know, an estimate you
30:54
can take review doesn't matter.
30:54
You know what rank you are
30:57
wherever else I know. You think
30:57
so much of your drive? Yeah,
31:00
it's a big part of your life,
31:00
you know? Yeah. Yeah, even I was
31:03
a bit surprised to be honest.
31:03
You were stepping down of paper
31:07
every
31:08  Trev
day. So it was nothing to
31:08
do with all it basically was
31:13
I've got a little bit older, a
31:13
lot of the guys want to do
31:18
things in the chapter. And I've
31:18
done it long enough. And it's
31:23
just about time that those guys
31:23
couldn't get involved and have
31:27
their shot. You had nothing to
31:27
do there was no nothing kind of
31:31
like, I don't get on with him or
31:31
like Jimmy and I've got
31:34
different ideas because we never
31:34
have we've always worked we've
31:37
worked smooth, as heavy as hell.
31:37
But it was more to do just
31:41
letting someone else have a
31:41
chance. There's some good guys.
31:45
Yeah, they deserve us
31:46  Wayne
and our truest thing to
31:46
do drove it's not
31:48  Trev
very much. Okay, what it
31:48
mean?
31:50  Wayne
I say you look it up.
31:50
Like I just want you to sound
31:52
intelligent for lunch before you
31:55  Unknown
give me give google it
31:55
now for me, so I don't
31:58  Wayne
really need that. But
31:58
Jimmy, would you like to do what
32:02
do you see for the villains in
32:02
the sex chapter for the next
32:04
year or so? where's where's
32:07  Unknown
now? You know,
32:07
hopefully, we're coming to sort
32:09
of an end of this COVID
32:09
malarkey. So what I would like,
32:13
where I would like to say is, is
32:13
asking him back to our
32:17
fundamentals, which is is
32:17
meeting up on a regular basis
32:20
with our brothers. And I would
32:20
like to focus a bit more on
32:26
working in our communities. Farm
32:26
example. nursery school near
32:34
near me, needed to raise 500
32:34
pound to have black repairs down
32:39
to their roof. And I thought how
32:39
cool would it be if like, you
32:42
know, we've got guys in our
32:42
chapter that are roofers. Yeah,
32:46
we've got the we've got the ABLE
32:46
hands, we could just rock up
32:50
say, right, we've got the
32:50
materials, we're going to give
32:52
you 500 pounds. But we're going
32:52
to do the roof for you anyway.
32:55
You know, I mean, just go with
32:55
the communities. Yeah, we we
33:00
used to do homeless rounds. But
33:00
we haven't only been out we
33:03
haven't been able to go out and
33:03
do that now. For quite some
33:06
time. But that's the sort of
33:06
thing I'd want to focus a bit
33:09
more on. It's been more of a
33:09
charity. So I could it's been
33:11
it's been really hard being in
33:11
lockdown not being able to do
33:14
stuff and going out and getting
33:14
your hands dirty, so to speak.
33:18  Trev
Yeah,
33:19  Unknown
yeah. And then
33:19
obviously next year, with the
33:22
success of this villains on CMV
33:22
obviously next year, our aim
33:26
will be to make it bigger and
33:26
better and have more people turn
33:31
up and you know, the annex have
33:31
already said they're more than
33:33
happy to accommodate us. So
33:36  Trev
yeah, they believe that
33:36
that that vibe I got was was
33:40
they really wanted us back.
33:40
Let's do it now. Okay, yeah. You
33:44
know, yeah, it was and to be
33:44
honest, the bar staff I know
33:49
we've mentioned they're great
33:49
the staff but the bar staff were
33:51
a pleasure. They went off with
33:51
this
33:55  Unknown
work worked in pubs and
33:55
you know when you go pick when
33:58
you go a big function like that,
33:58
and you've got you know, you've
34:01
got big drinkers nothing was a
34:01
problem for him. was no, nothing
34:06
was a problem. Oh, you want 10
34:06
Yoga bombs? No problem. I think
34:10
we drank them drive. Yeah,
34:12  Trev
I think we did. Yeah, I
34:12
think we did. Yeah, cry. Right.
34:16
I think that's Yeah, no, I
34:18  Wayne
really appreciate you
34:18
doing this to me and for putting
34:21
it out there again. You know,
34:21
how great the villains are and
34:23
what they do for everyone in the
34:23
community. Thank you very much
34:27
for having me on.
34:28  Trev
It was a pleasure. It was
34:28
pleasure working with you have
34:30
those years. And I'm still with
34:30
you, but just not always. See
34:42
you the next year is Jimmy. You
34:42
were saying earlier about the
34:47
new season. is kind of like
34:47
quality street Have you been
34:52
here Connie? Oh Carla,
34:52
chocolate, chocolate.
34:55  Wayne
I love chocolate. I do
34:55
like it. I'm a savoury man more
34:57
but yeah, I do like to Really?
34:57
Yes, yeah.
35:00  Unknown
I love Christmas and
35:00
your joyous time because you're
35:04
here don't surprise me. You're
35:04
fat bastard. Sorry. I'm sorry.
35:09  Trev
The thing is right with
35:09
chocolate. There are people out
35:13
there that don't like it. What
35:13
do you call them? Chocolate
35:17
folks. weirdos That's what you
35:17
call it. Oh yeah,
35:20  Wayne
get straight to the
35:20
point. get straight to the point
35:23  Trev
where they are because
35:23
like the funny thing is we
35:26
chocolate if I've ever been a
35:26
bit miserable or something, I'll
35:30
always go to a bar chocolate and
35:30
love it I can't get through a
35:33
day without having chocolate at
35:33
all and it will be ever spoken
35:36
to before
35:36  Wayne
that you're cutting off
35:36
snip squares and taking exactly
35:39  Trev
what the gods isn't it you
35:39
know how so?
35:43  Wayne
Okay, so let's argue this
35:43
out as soon as you see recess we
35:47
bring it up chocolate and put it
35:47
out to our listeners. Let's do
35:51
it. Play no milk.
35:53  Unknown
Milk. Okay, playing
35:53
checkers is supposed to be
35:56
better for you and it is it's
35:56
like you're by actually
36:00  Wayne
playing Yes, most people
36:00
have milk and the bass beat up a
36:08
good plain chocolate it can
36:08
taste better. Yes, it is better.
36:12
You're talking about high cocoa
36:12
content.
36:14  Trev
Are you doing it? What are
36:14
your taking your dark chocolate
36:18
your bingo me I we've all you
36:21  Wayne
know you're you're the
36:21
one who said that is better for
36:23
you. I didn't say that I'm
36:23
talking about from a taste. I'm
36:27
just saying that you can get
36:27
good quality. High cocoa content
36:31
chocolate that tastes good.
36:32  Trev
No, no the only kind of
36:32
good plain chocolate you can get
36:36
is the half and half which is
36:36
all right.
36:40  Wayne
She was saying you have
36:40
to have the milk to make it
36:42
taste good. You've been obvious
36:42
though your partner your I never
36:46
fought you as part of the crowd.
36:46
You've spent your whole life
36:48
being different of an obvious
36:48
man now you're obvious. And
36:52  Unknown
I'm trying to be the
36:52
opposite. When it big when he
36:55
comes to treats. I'm an obvious
36:55
man. Can't help it. Yeah,
36:59  Wayne
you're gonna get everyone
36:59
on your side anyway, we've milk
37:01
chocolate eggs, is it most
37:01
people don't know chocolate? I'm
37:03
trying to. I'm trying to be that
37:03
right and typically
37:07  Trev
are I'll ask you now this
37:07
you're gonna you can put one
37:12
chocolate bent bar in the bin
37:12
get going. You can put one on
37:17
the shelf. What do you do shelf
37:17
bin? What do you do shelf pin
37:21  Wayne
on the shelf. I have to
37:21
have fruit and not which is
37:24
Milk. Milk is milk milk is milk
37:24
on the top shelf and the beans
37:41
are in the bean will be in a
37:41
bit. I do like them walk of
37:45
things we've like assessed by
37:45
stuffed in them. I do like that
37:50
funny creations whoever we're
37:50
talking about chocolate doesn't
37:55
really matter how old I am.
37:55
Chocolate with space dust or
37:59
whatever they might they might
37:59
chocolate for sophisticated
38:03
people now and you're just going
38:03
you haven't mentioned high cocoa
38:06
content. That's what
38:06
sophisticated people
38:09  Trev
I don't care. I don't care
38:09
about high cocoa content.
38:14  Wayne
Yes, but trying now but
38:14
then once within chewy bits in
38:17
are quite nice and warm. I don't
38:17
know they're not Wonka. They've
38:20
funded marvellous creations or
38:20
something but they're very good.
38:24
But the thing is, I'm not fussy
38:24
like you You are like a woman.
38:32
You're very you're very in touch
38:32
with your feminine side you
38:34
don't like you're you're very
38:34
black and white. You like stuff
38:37
you like your rum. You don't
38:37
like that? My like most of
38:40
everything. I just don't like
38:40
fish. Just don't give me fish
38:44
and don't get that's about it. I
38:44
don't know everything else I
38:46
like is your lead Turkish
38:46
Delight. Yes. I love Turkish
38:51
life. Yes. Yes. What do you
38:51
mean? Oh, fuck. I know that. I
38:58
can understand why people don't
38:58
like it but but I'm not fussy
39:02
until because it's not fishy.
39:02
fishy.
39:07  Trev
fishy, Chuck.
39:12  Unknown
It's not good. Right?
39:12
You're not gonna play any
39:16
chocolate in the bean. Any
39:16
chocolate.
39:18  Wayne
I don't think I can buy a
39:18
diabetic chocolate. I'm putting
39:22
diabetic chocolate in the bean
39:24  Unknown
laxative, like the one
39:24
that makes you Yeah, put it in a
39:27
bed? Yeah. Is that right? Ask me
39:27
the same question.
39:30  Wayne
trif What would you put
39:30
on the top shelf? The highest
39:36
ranking chocolate? whisper okay,
39:36
because it's just velvet. It is
39:43
great. It's got nothing in it
39:43
though. Is it apart from
39:45
chocolate. So why don't you like
39:45
bubble arrows we've just played
39:49
with milk chocolate,
39:50  Trev
cuz he's got two big
39:50
bubbles in it.
39:52  Wayne
There's there's Wait, I'm
39:52
sorry. I didn't realise you
39:54
measure the bubbles in the
39:54
chocolate to measure a
39:56  Trev
sign if you're gonna have
39:56
something good. Have you oh good
40:00
don't have air bubbles. He's a
40:00
waste. Anyway, in the bin. Two
40:05
things. Two things in the bin.
40:05
Simply contraband ease. Yeah,
40:09  Wayne
I don't agree. I'm sorry,
40:09
red coconut does go with chop
40:13
rates worse. Rates plain
40:13
chocolate bounty flying,
40:17  Trev
no things that don't go
40:17
together are so cut out and
40:21
plain chocolate. And you can't
40:21
shine it you can't Polish a
40:24
rigid by putting chocolate
40:24
around it. And the other thing
40:29
that deserves a
40:35
bit of turds. crunchies banks
40:35
don't
40:38  Wayne
know why honey comb and
40:38
chocolate is the food of the
40:41
gods. I'm sorry, you're going to
40:41
the funfair and having a bag the
40:46
size of your scrotum. With that
40:46
in it. You're having that you're
40:50
having that I'm sorry, that's
40:50
true. Which isn't boost has
40:55
already got a top boost. So I
40:55
like both of them. But as I
40:58
said, I'm not fussy, like you're
40:58
being overly picky. This is what
41:02
makes you a nightmare to buy for
41:02
for any Christmas or anything
41:05
else. Your bloody nightmare. I
41:05
like what I like and I do Yeah,
41:12
yeah, well this is this is why I
41:12
didn't want to do this from
41:18
season one because you take it
41:18
too seriously.
41:21  Unknown
All we've got is 35
41:21
minutes of us arguing
41:24  Wayne
Yeah, exactly. So that's
41:24
season free in a nutshell.
41:27
Welcome to season three. This is
41:27
what it's gonna be all about
41:30
arguing we've got to the stage
41:30
where we argue on air now so
41:34
this is basically it thanks for
41:34
joining us on The New Seasons me
41:38
it's been emotional. I think it
41:38
really as I hope you've enjoyed
41:42
it as usual you can come to the
41:42
website I mlo podcast.com Leave
41:47

41:47

41:51
want to leave us what your
41:51
chocolate bar is with chocolate
41:53
bar. I know they're gonna say
41:53
milk because most people will
41:57
say milk but they have a hot
41:57
chocolate is not horrible you
42:01
are you the dark chocolate
42:01
Federation the Dark Lord man the
42:05
dark see you walking down like
42:05
if it's not horrible you're
42:10
making it as if as if life is
42:10
hard, it's like like spinach
42:14
mixed with like la semolina or
42:14
something you
42:17  Trev
know, it's not all fuzzy
42:17
now, but if you're going to
42:20
treat yourself as something good
42:20
don't know just
42:23  Wayne
just just have spicy
42:23
coated peanuts. That's better
42:27
than all of this stuff.
42:27
Actually,
42:28  Trev
very quickly before we go.
42:28
Yeah. Do you remember that? You
42:31
remember the chocolate used to
42:31
get with like the pirate rod or
42:34
something? It was called like
42:34
Jamaican rum or something. Do
42:37
you remember that making
42:38  Wayne
chocolate? That sounds
42:38
like the best thing in the
42:40
world? for you. That would be
42:40
like it would do a lot heaven
42:43  Unknown
with a tasty No, it was
42:43
a really weird, it come in a
42:47
gold wrapper. He was like
42:47
Jamaican spice or Jamaican rum.
42:50
I'm gonna Google it. Before we
42:50
get off here. We're
42:53  Wayne
glad you've done your
42:53
research before we come on, but

less controversial and a little
43:10
bit more. confrontational. No,
43:18
no more confrontation is going
43:18
on here. There is something
43:21
going on here. One of us
43:21
definitely has signed a contract
43:24
