The Feast of Saint Luke
Today we commemorate Saint Luke - Evangelist. Luke is considered the author of the Gospel of Luke and Acts of the Apostles. Luke's account of the birth of Jesus is probably the most familiar in the gospels. It is the version complete with the shepherds in their fields who follow the star and the singing angels described in Christmas carols. Luke wants us to know that Jesus is a God who includes all people. His gospel describes the generosity and recklessness of God's love and forgiveness. Hear about stories unique to Luke's Gospel.
