A lot of us are spending the day in our kitchens today. From her years on WGBH, Julia Child's kitchen is almost as familiar to most Americans as our own. However, before she was a TV chef, before she was even Julia Child, young Julia McWilliams was recruited by the OSS. In America's first intelligence service, she developed her first recipe (for shark repellent), and went on to serve with distinction in the Asian theater of WWII.
