episode 97: MD30 – Bayern close in on title as the relegation scrap livens up

With only four games to go Bayern’s 4:2 win at Champions League contender Bayer Leverkusen will probably seal the deal in the title race. After an early Leverkusen goal from Alario, Bayern kept their cool and turned the game around. Leverkusen is lucky Borussia Mönchengladbach also lost their game away at Freiburg to keep the two teams level in the fight for the “Königsklasse”.

Dortmund managed to get a 1:0 win against an under Labbadia unbeaten Hertha side to secure their second spot. A 1:1 draw from Leipzig even increased their lead to four points.

The focus stays on the bottom end of the table, where Mainz secured a big and deserved 2:0 win at Frankfurt, whilst Düsseldorf could only draw 2:2 against ten Hoffenheimers at home and Bremen lost their home game against Wolfsburg 1:0.

In other Sunday games Union and Augsburg, both managed to get 1:1 draws, which also meant Schalke finally got another point after four losses in a row. For Köln, their draw at Augsburg will end all hopes for Europa after all.

The boys in the studio – this time it’s only Richard and Mirko – discuss all of the action. As always, a very special thanks to our friends ‘Phre The Eon’ for the theme music. Anyone interested can find them on Facebook.
