We now know who the the 18 sides in next year’s Bundesliga will be! That comes after Werder Bremen edged past Heidenheim in the relegation play-off to secure survival. They only made it on away goals, drawing 2-2 in the second match after a 0-0 draw at home, but they looked the best team throughout. So close, yet so far for Heidenheim – will they ever get a better chance?

Also, last Saturday saw the DFB Pokal final! Bayern faced Bayer Leverkusen at the Olympiastadion, and in the end they got the job done with a 4-2 victory. However, that was only after Die Werkself squandered several fantastic opportunities to make it a far closer match. As it is, Hansi Flick wins the double.

That is it for German football this season! However, don’t worry – we have one more episode looking back at the season as a whole.
