It's been a big week on social media for the Lakers, and LeBron James capped things off with a mixtape hyping up Anthony Davis, It included some high end highlights, and a message. "Get It Twisted if you want too! I'm due time he'll remind you once again why he's HIM!!! And I can't wait for it to be unleashed! ????????????〰️" So was he trying to motivate Davis? Rehabilitate him in the minds of Lakers fans? Make himself feel a little better about what Davis might bring this year?
Yes, likely, to all of them.
But it could very well be the start of a trend. Killing Davis with kindness, and setting a high bar for him to hit once training camp and next season rolls around. That's the Davis the Lakers will need to get anywhere.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors did the Lakers a favor, and kept the Boston Celtics from winning an 18th title. In a tire fire of a season, a championship for the Celtics might have been more than Lakers fans could handle. Both of these teams, though, exceeded expectations.
