The year was 2015. Show host Blake Wyland intended to start a podcast where he took a deep dive with his guests from the guitar world to explain their rigs. What happened was that, but also a whole lot more. The show quickly evolved into discussions about people's lives. Guitars, pedals, amps, etc. are the central hub of the show, but it really is more about the PEOPLE behind all of it. Both the musicians who use the gear, and the folks that create these magical tools of expression. episode 304: 37 Surgeries & Van Halen w/ Pete & Dede Dankelson
Peter Dankelson was born at 30 weeks and diagnosed with Goldenhar Syndrome. His Mom, Dede, kept a daily journal to update family and friends. This became known as "Pete's Diary" during the 102 days he was in the NICU.
Fast forward to now, Pete has underwent 37 surgeries, him and Dede have inspired thousands through motivational speaking and now he is pursuing his passion for guitar.
These two are very inspiring and super cool people to talk with. I think you are really going to enjoy this episode.
