Is it too early to create a sleep schedule for your baby? No, it is never too early to develop a sleep schedule. You will modify that sleep schedule as they grow but it can be started.

Karen Winters and Dr. Deb discuss creating a sleep schedule for your newborn, infant, toddler, and up. Ever wonder what the best bedtime should be for your child? Karen shares the bedtime for different ages and what you can do to implement that sleep schedule.

Struggling with a child who just won’t go to sleep? it is common to struggle with getting children to wind down and go to bed. But setting a routine, like bath time, storybook reading and connected play can help with this routine.

PUT DOWN THE COMPUTER one of the biggest problems for kids and adults is screen time. Limit your nightly screen time or use blue light filters to protect your sleep.

About our Guest:

Karen is a mother, an in-home daycare provider, a sleep consultant, and a business owner. Along with being a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant she also has her degree in Early Childhood Education and has been working with children in various settings for over 20 years. 

Karen went through sleep challenges with her own daughter. She remembers the frequent overnight wakes, the feeding to sleep, the constant rocking and bouncing. However, after lots of research and then becoming certified through the Center for Pediatric Sleep Management her passion quickly turned into helping families avoid the sleepless nights, and exhaustion she went through. 

Using her expertise, Karen provides families with advice, support, and behavior modification techniques to help teach their child the skill of independent sleep. She works together with families to choose a method that best fits their unique circumstances and desires so that their family as a whole can become more well-rested.
