episode 21: Your Happiness Code


Get some paper and a pen ready because we're going to construct your personal Happiness Code.  

I really want this to be something that benefits you and the people around you.  What are some things that make you happy?  What things are necessary for you to feel the best?

This is an outline of my personal happiness code.  You can model yours on mine, or not.  Do what feels best for you.

  1. Good Health: what does your body need to work its best?
  2. How do you alleviate stress and distress?
  3. Relationships, including with yourself: what relationships serve you?  If something's not working, how can you support the other person?
  4. Self-awareness: Does it help you if you understand why you do the things you do? Along with that comes self-respect, self-esteem, and awareness.
  5. Freedom: Be willing to stand up for your own rights and beliefs. Freedom from shame and guilt, freedom from abuse.
  6. Steering my own life: doing what I love!
  7. Self-confidence: being comfortable giving my all when tackling something new.  Stepping out of your comfort zone is the only way to grow.

It's important to celebrate your wins.  What can you celebrate this week?

In order to really be able to put your energy into this, you may need to do a little exercise.  Go outside and feel the breeze on your skin.  Remind yourself that even though the world is currently run by fear, life is still happening and you can choose to appreciate it.
