What an indie-label is good for - Sydney Christensen (Label: Kill Rock Stars)

The first ThemaTakt-podcast-episode in english. My name is Tobias Wilinski and in this interview I talk to Sydney Christensen. She is the Vice President of Project Management at Kill Rock Stars. That’s a legendary US-indie-label that was founded in 1991 - so over 30 years ago. In this episode we will be talking about how important it is to have a legacy as a label, difficulties in touring, the importance of college radio, the future of album and single-business, organizing SXSW in Austin (Texas) with 14 artists on two stages and pride month. We will also answer the question: what is a label even good for? We did the interview at Popkultur-Festival in Berlin and also filmed it. So if you wanna watch it, head over to youtube.com/thematakt.
