Lost Dot Podcast: The Transcontinental, Trans Pyrenees, and Accursed Race.

Stories from the Transcontinental Race, the Trans Pyrenees Race, and The Accursed Race. At the sharp end they are beautifully hard bicycle races, simple in design but complex in execution. Factors of self reliance, logistics, navigation and judgement burden racers’ minds as well as their physiques. The strongest excel and redefine what we think possible while many experienced riders target only a finish.

episode 7: TPRNo2 / DAILY 05

Follow the second edition of the Trans Pyrenees Race (TPR) - a 1500-kilometre self-supported race through most spectacular and remote scenery in the Pyrenees Mountains, from the Bay of Biscay to the Balearic Sea and back again.

We have a winner, and a complete podium*! In this fifth DAILY episode, host Iain is joined by TPR Veterans Jim and Rachel to chat through the winning ride - including racing on a bike that isn't yours and splitting shoes for comfort, the women and pairs leaders. They also explore the idea of 'riding your own race' during the relentless  TPR days - mental mechanisms and motivation, and awareness of other riders.
