An Ennis Councillor insists she still has full confidence in Cahercalla Nursing Home's care despite a new HIQA report suggesting the facility was 'non compliant' in a number of areas when assessed last year. Health inspectors have claimed the facility, when inspected on October 19th, failed to ensure it had a clear management structure, and that the provision of care was 'not of a consistently high quality'. Cahercalla has told Clare FM it acknowledges and accepts the findings of the report, and has completed a 'comprehensive action plan' to identify the issues raised by inspectors. Ennis-based Fine Gael Councillor Mary Howard, who's a member of the Regional Health Forum West, has been telling Clare FM's Josh Prenderville she was surprised at some of the findings and believes it's vital they're addressed quickly.
