507: Anthropogenic Ecosystems

Cows and trees go together like chocolate and peanut butter.

KMO welcomes Eric Toensmieir back to the C-Realm Podcast to talk about various ways of sequestering carbon. Eric comments on the controversy in response to Allan Savory's infamous TED talk on the benefits of holistic grazing practices. There are much better ways to sequester carbon and improve landscapes via wise grazing practices. Eric describes some of the edible perennial trees and shrubs that he has growing in his zone 5 home garden in Holyoke, Massachusettes. The conversation ends with a much-needed reminder (in some environmentalist circles) that humans are not a scourge upon the living Earth. Industrial capitalism is, but we're learning to make wise use of the land in spite of the economic imperatives that rule our lives.
