Am I Old Yet? — Comedy audio drama

Helen is taking a break from sharing her doings for a few weeks. But I thought you might enjoy this song, "The Bottom Line:" which I wrote for Susannah Finzi's hilarious political satire of the same name back in 2019.

Episode 1 of Season 4 kicks off with Helen calling up her daughter Janey for help.  This doesn't happen often, so it must be something very serious.  She is about to celebrate her 78th birthday, so it's possible she's also about to get the answer to the question, i.e. is she old yet?

Episode 2  and Helen has received a lovely gift from her friend Sola. Episode 3 sees the return of English actress Jane Vicary in the role of Helen's friend Pattie, old college chum and one-time opera singer. Pattie has  retired to a large village in the heart of Hampshire, and finds herself increasingly involved in the local community..

Episode 4, Season 4 finds Helen dozing on a park bench on a lovely warm day. A kindly stranger interrupts her, and the ensuing conversation takes some surprising twists and turns. So, what is the difference between a mathematician and a clown?  Listen in to find out!

Episode 5 — Helen is astonished to discover that her granddaughter Susie considers her to be an IT expert.  Fortunately, she knows enough to be helpful this time. But not before giving vent to her feelings about contemporary website design.

Episode 6, Season 4 finds Helen on the phone with her old pal Joey, who is planning a trip to London with her husband Steve.  They share some thoughts on the subject of retirement, and what is it that they have against the idea of long sea voyages surrounded by 'old people'.
