We're back with another unsung Dolph Lundgren film! This time out, we're watching the first-ever movie adaptation of The Punisher, which was released direct-to-video in the United States. It's not a great movie, but it's a pretty shockingly accurate depiction of the late-80s Punisher, as he takes on Eurotrash and Samurai while saving kids from being sold into slavery. It's kind of the perfect VHS action movie. Plus, Movie Fighters favorite Louis Gossett Jr...
We're back and we're kicking off what may be March Mattel Madness with 1987's live-action Masters of the Universe movie, starring Dolph Lundgren! Our take: It ain't as bad as you think, though it's a horrible adaptation of the cartoon. Skeletor is pretty rad, though. Watch along with us on YouTube!
We're wrapping up Rapper/Actor Right Back Atcha with 2010's Gun, a movie that not only stars Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, but was also written by the illustrious rapper! It surprises us in a lot of ways, but they're not all positive. Val Kilmer proves to be great at being terrible, the plot is thin at best and a few characters speak as if they are robots! Watch along with us on iTunes or Amazon if you dare!
We did it, everyone: We managed to continue Rapper/Actor: Right Back Atacha and celebrate Valentine's Day all in one show! The movie that helped us accomplish that mission? The 2000 Jet Li/Aaliyah romance(?) film Romeo Must Die (which also features DMX). But is it really a romance film? Well, that's debateable. They don't even kiss, which was the basis for some controversy. What does happen is that Jet Li controls Aaliyah's body at one point to beat up a motorcycle lady...
Rapper/Actor: Right Back Atacha continues with this 1998 "comedy" starring Master P! We go in coming to the troubling realization that this movie could essentially be a 93-minute rap album skit, and, well, we're not altogether wrong. That means there's all the incumbent bad taste and plenty of just plain wasting time. Watch along with us on Netflix if you dare.
It's a new year and time for a new series on Movie Fighters! We're starting off 2016 with our long-awaited series of movies starring rappers, and we decided that a great kickoff would be the time-appropriate Ice Cube (and Xzibit) vehicle XXX: State of the Union! One of us liked this dumb, dumb movie with a overcomplicated plot more than the other. Try to guess which! You can watch along with us on Netflix, too!
It's Christmas week, and we're watching the brand new Miz Christmas movie (in a budding Movie Fighters tradition), Santa's Little Helper! Unlike 2013's Christmas Bounty,
It's December, which means it's time for us to dive into some holiday films!
Hasbrovember is coming to an explosive conclusion as we watch the 1986 animated Transformers movie! It doesn't go so well, unfortunately.
You demanded it, so we watched the third movie in the My Little Pony: Equestria Girls series!
