episode 481: 'The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster' Is An Unfortunate Letdown

Our Score - 4.34/10 (D-) Rotten Tomatoes - 85% IMDB - 5/10

Chosen By: Matt McNeal

The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster (2023) has some solid ideas and, but it fails to blend those ideas with the story, creating a confusing an uninspired letdown. That being said, director Bomani Story and lead actress Laya DeLeon Hayes are poised for big things in the future.

episode 483: Is 'Sisu' Too Silly To Be Good?

Our Score - 6.83/10 (C+) Rotten Tomatoes - 94% IMDB - 6.9/10

Chosen By: Steve Rushlau

Sisu is heavy on action and gore and, for the right audience, it will be a blast. Those looking for anything even remotely close to plausibility, however, will come away disappointed.

episode 424: 'Bullet Train' Is Better Than Its Reviews Indicate

Our Score - 8.42/10 (B+)     Rotten Tomatoes - 54%     IMDB - 7.3/10

Chosen By: Steve Rushlau

Fantastic performances from the incredible cast, witty dialogue, and the overall fun vibe of 'Bullet Train' make it one our most enjoyable viewings of 2022. Because it's an action movie, Aaron Taylor-Johnson won't get any recognition for his performance, but it is truly one of the best of the year.

episode 423: 'Trick' (2019) Is An Awful Movie, But We Didn't Hate It

Our Score - 4.34/10 (D-)     Rotten Tomatoes - 36%     IMDB - 4.9/10

Chosen By: Nate Dudley

There's no arguing how terrible this movie is. It's a nonsense plot with ridiculous writing, horrible writing and bad acting throughout. Somehow, though, we didn't absolutely hate it. It entertained us in the way that only truly horrendous movies can.

episode 422: 'Halloween Ends' is a Rushed Ending to This Disappointing Trilogy

Our Score - 5.63/10 (C-)     Rotten Tomatoes - 40%     IMDB - 5/10

Chosen By: Shane Cronican

David Gordon Green and his crew took a bold swing at taking this franchise in a new direction. Unfortunately, they attempted to do too much with too little time, so the end product was a sloppy, rushed misfire with only moments of promise.

episode 421: 'Hellraiser' (2022) Is A Surprising Misfire From David Bruckner

Our Score - 5.42/10 (D+)     Rotten Tomatoes - 66%     IMDB - 6/10

Chosen By: Matt McNeal

We were excited as anybody for David Bruckner's (The Ritual) take on Hellraiser. Unfortunately, this addition to the franchise is a bland and generic slasher movie that fails to develop any characters or explore any themes. Ultimately, this is a case of missed potential.

episode 420: We Were Disappointed in 'The Wailing' (2016)

Our Score - 5.3/10 (D+)     Rotten Tomatoes - 99%     IMDB - 7.4/10

Chosen By: Shane Cronican

We're in the absolute minority on this one, but The Wailing just didn't work for us. It is well made, but lack of logic and numerous plot holes made this a frustrating watch. The unwarranted 2 hours 36 minutes runtime didn't help matters.

episode 419: 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' is a Classic In Every Way

Our Score - 9/10 (A)     Rotten Tomatoes - 89%     IMDB - 8/10

Chosen By: Steve Rushlau

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) has legendary talent in front of and behind the camera and it shows. This is an absolutely timeless classic that ranks among the best of the western genre, and among the best movies of all time.
