This week we talk about the Grid Life Music & Motorsports festival that Matt MC'd over the weekend while reviewing the new BMW M235i and a 2015 Hennessey Supercharged Mustang GT. Otherwise it's all the usual BS with the occassional piece of useful information peppered throughout.
This week Jeff Glucker (@jglucker) of Hooniverse joins us again as we recap the TST world tour. Matt has just returned from a trip to Monaco to watch the grand prix with his father, Jeff gives us the gift of ridiculous Nurburgring stories, we discuss the Corvette factory in Bowling Green Kentucky, the new Z06, the general debacle that was the Camaro launch event and some quality time was spent with Jaguar and Range Rover in their newest F Type and Sport variants.
This week we're joined by Tim Whitcome, a long-time friend and occassional contributor to the efforts at TST. Matt and Tim discuss "Speed Secrets" a pre-pilot show that brought Matt to LA for the first time. We review the Golf R and WRX STi while comparing them to the impending Focus RS. Additionally Matt got some seat time in Magnacharger's supercharged C7 Corvette and we talk Carplay radios.
We've got an old friend in the studio this week one Craig Lieberman (@CraigLieberman). Craig is one of the unsung heroes of the Fast and Furious franchise, he tells the story of how he went from car geek to consultant on what is now one of the largest film franchises ever. Paul Walker's Supra in the fast and furious was quite literally Craig's car that was leased to the studio for the film and his Skyline was one of the hero cars from Fast and Furious 2.
This week we're joined by AJ Gordon of The Petersen Automotive Museum and the Car Stories podcast. AJ came by to inform our audience that The Petersen is doing a little fundraising to help restore their 1948 Davis Divan via IndieGogo. An admittedly strange car but nonetheless and important part of Los Angeles' history. Matt is fresh back from announcing half mile runway racing and he left half of his vocal chords on the track; while I'm down for the count this week with laryngitis...
Recorded on many people's favorite holiday; Patriot's Day (April 20th) we sat down at the podcast table for the first time in a couple weeks. Matt is fresh back from Germany on the /Drive NBC shoot. While there he got some hands on time with the Mercedes C63 S and he has tails from general insanity at Bilderberg and the Nurburgring. Halfway through recording Jeff Glucker from Hooniverse joins us at the table and we discuss the Audi S3 vs Golf R and how they may stack up against the Focus RS.
This week we're joined by our friend Rick Radcliffe a man with much patience (auto-shop teacher). Rick arrived in his newly purchased C5 ZO6 and we meander through various subject matter as usual. However Rick didn't swing by just to bullshit, he wanted us to help grade his student's Top Gear Challenge assignments.
This week we're joined by Bodie Stroud (@BodieStroud) founder and namesake of the well known hot rod shop BS Industries. Bodie has been in the business a long time and shares his experience in running a high-end shop, working with client's, and managing projects while maintaining an artistic influence to expensive fabrication projects...
This week we're joined by ben from KombiLife.com (@HastaAlaska). Ben hales from the Isle of Jersey and has set out on a journey to travel from Chile to Alaska in a Volkswagen Bus (aka Kombi). Ben did not disappoint with tales of his long journey and the road ahead in what has become an exceptional story.
This week Matt, Zack and myself catch up in studio on what we've been up to and ramble through whatever else comes to mind. Zack went drifting in his Crown Vic at Sonoma Raceway, we discuss the merits of full EV cars vs hybrids, Matt flogged a highly modified Saab 900 Turbo and updated on his Mustang and I installed a new Magnaflow catback on my Fiesta ST.
