episode 14: Episode 14 - Guitars of Fire

Jeff Burns and Greg Dobrov are Guitars of Fire and being a guitarist myself I was blown away by these two. With two Ovation Guitars and with what appeared to be twenty fingers apiece, they played some of the most inventive original compositions yet. Their blend of jazz, flamenco with a touch of world fusion created pure magic on this show. I swear to you that I saw smoke coming off their guitars. You can check out their website at www.guitarsoffire.com

episode 9: Episode 9 - Undertow

Since we are broadcasting from Chicago, we couldnand#39;t resist doing a podcast of some of Chicagoand#39;s very own home grown contribution to jazz - free jazz.Hope yaand#39;ll dig this foray into the world of other aural textures, as we expand our sonic palette...And if free ainand#39;t your thing, weand#39;ve got a killer show lined up for next week with one of Chicagoand#39;s wittiest songwriters.

episode 8: Episode 8 - Giving Tree Band

We had an amazingly fun time recording the Giving Tree Band! (not to be confused with the actual tree, which was cut down to make a bunch of books by some guy named Silverstein) Giving Tree Band is my new favorite midwestern bluegrass band. And their instruments are beautiful, all natural wooden masterpieces. I was amazed at how the sound came out - everything you hear on the podcast is a live, natural mix, with no artificial sweeteners or colors.
