Hello and welcome to Felonious, a podcast where we discuss the realm of true crime. We’re two lifelong friends originally from the UK but we Brexited and moved to Europe. In this podcast we will mostly discuss cases that have happened outside of the UK and US. We’ll take you through the planning behind some of the world's biggest heists, serial killer motives, the lifestyles of the rich and fraudulent and much much more - all with a perfect blend of seriousness and humour.
In this episode, we merrily discuss crimes that have happened around the festive season, including Santa robbing a bank twice, spiking people's drinks and stealing Champagne. No wonder he's a jolly St. Nick!
Disclaimer: Mentions of theft, drugs, guns, violence. Santa being bad. Swearing as usual.

We take a look at the ruthless and seductive Charles Sobhraj and how he became the notorious serial killer linked to the deaths of over 20 young travellers on the "hippie trail" in South-East Asia in the 1970s. We’ll discuss his childhood, his early criminal acts and his relationship with his first wife Chantal Compagnon.
Disclaimer: Explicit language/ swearing and discussions of violence and murder...

We follow his journey from a petty thief to a notorious serial killer and scam artist, who targeted young backpackers travelling along the popular "hippie trail" in South-East Asia during the 1970s. We discuss the gem dealer alias 'Alain Gautier', Charles' connection with Marie Leclerc, and the multitude of individuals who fell victim to his crimes...
In this episode, we will conclude the case of Charles Sobhraj. We will discuss what happens to Nadine Gires, we will find out how Herman Knippenberg joined the dots and found out who Alain Gautier really was, we will count the number of people named Jean who Charles came across and answer how Charles nearly got a meeting with a gibbering rictus, soon to be British prime minister, Boris Johnson...
In this episode, we will discuss the crime behind the psychological phenomenon Stockholm Syndrome. The crime takes place, ironically, in Stockholm in August of 1973. We just love 70’s true crime stories! The Norrmalmstorg robbery took place over 6 days and it was the first criminal event to be broadcasted live on Sweden’s television network.
Disclaimer: Traumatic events, domestic and sexual violence.

Bringing you another story from the 70’s (we just can’t seem to escape this era), today we will be talking about the case of Patricia Hearst (aka Patty), the wealthy American heiress of a media empire, who was kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army, a far left militant organisation.
Although our podcast introduction says we’ll mostly cover cases outside of the UK and US, we couldn’t resist this one...
In this episode, we learn that Portugal was one of the first countries to abolish the death penalty and that the Portuguese brought tempura to Asia (who knew?). We discuss three unique cases - Diogo Alves, Luisa de Jesus, and Francisco de Mattos Lobo - and we try not to lose our heads in the process!
Disclaimer:

In this episode, we talk about Félicien Kabuga, who was one of the financial backers of the genocide of the Rwandan Tutsi in 1994. We discuss his role in arming the militia, how his shared ideology was broadcasted over radio waves and how he has managed to escape justice for nearly 30 years.
