Catherine returns to Arkansas to investigate the death of Janie Ward. Janie died mysteriously in 1989 at a party at a cabin on the backroads of Marshall, Arkansas. In 2004, a new investigation into Janie's death is opened. Catherine reviews the investigation and tries to piece together the route from the cabin to the bank parking lot. She talks with the Ward's lawyer and with the special prosecutor on the new investigation. Catherine also gets a call from a woman named Sylvia, who says she witnessed Janie getting hit in the face.
