If a group of management consultants went on a corporate yoga retreat to develop a cycling team, it would probably be Team DSM. Implacable rules, devoid of charisma, but undeniably good results given the budget and youth of the team - a testament to their strong development pathways.

Time for change for FDJ, with Pinot going to the Giro and their key rider now a favourite sprinter, surely headed to the Tour de France, Arnaud Demare. The first World Tour level race kicks off this weekend with a seven stage race in the UAE. Two genuine mountain top finishes, 4 pure sprint stages, and a 13km flat ITT makes this a simple yet intriguing stage race. One for the sprinters or true GC riders (no puncheur stages at all), we will see Pogacar, Bennett, Ewan and Almeida start their season here with big ambitions.

A pancake flat stage with a couple of intermediate sprints, 176km through the desert couldn't be particularly exciting until the inevitable bunch sprint in the final 1km...right?

Pogacar is a miner, Ganna is superman, Bisseger is better than you think and a ghost hit Tiberi. All that and more in this recap of the second stage of the UAE Tour 2021, a 13km flat, twisty ITT which would shake up the GC standings ahead of the big mountain top test up Hafeet tomorrow in Stage 3.

Poggers vs Ineos choo choo on Hafeet, what more could you ask for on a Tuesday morning and once again the stage delivered. Could Pogacar hold off one of the best one week racers in the world, would Almeida crack or save his 2nd position on GC and would Sepp Kuss take his newfound freedom and convert it into a big stage win?

Flat stage, zero wind, bunch sprint with the majority of the big guns minus Groenewegen and Demare. Who would have the best leadout train and would Pascal Ackermann jump too early once again?
