The Only Child Diaries Podcast

Animals have always held a special place in my heart.  Being an only child, I spent a lot of time alone growing up, and begged my parents for a dog.  They finally relented.  Thus started my lifelong relationship with animals, including dogs, then house rabbits, cats and of course our horse.  I was shy growing up and animals seemed to offer a quiet confidence in me.  Through the years, I've used my fundraising expertise to support a number of animal charities...

My journey with acupuncture has been life changing!  But it's sometimes been a bit challenging...

Growing up in a negative environment, I worked hard to overcome that and approach life with a positive outlook.  It wasn't easy.  Hear the story of some of my challenges as well as a couple of the people - the women - who helped show me that not everyone is negative.  Some people just bleed positive vibes!  

Here’s the second part of my story about being hit by a drunk driver in Las Vegas. I hope this story helps anyone else that might go through such an event in their lives - horrible as it might be. And also hope it provides a little perspective. Life is such a gift and can be taken away from us so quickly. 

This month marks the fifth anniversary of our crash in Las Vegas, being hit by a drunk driver while on vacation.  It remains one of the most upsetting and pivotal events in our lives.  When it happened, I shared some of the details, but then was unable to really share ALL of the details for many reasons.  Now you can hear details of the crash itself, the aftermath, learning about Nevada State laws, and fighting to find resolution for myself, and more so, my husband as well...

Any time you move, it's a LOT of work.  Listen to the move that took me literally almost five months?  How could that be?  Oh my!  I made it harder on myself by trying to recycle everything I could, repurpose and reuse things.  It's a story of what NOT to do when you need to move.  I've never been very good at organizing my own stuff.  You could call me one of the organizationally disabled!  Stop this woman before she moves again!  

Last year, I found myself in a place I NEVER thought I would be.  Living in the house again where I grew up.  How did THAT happen?  Listen as I tell you all about moving back, and if it's a) comforting or b) weird!  Can you guess which one?  LOL.  Welcome to the Only Child Diaries podcast!
