In this first episode of The Trial, Ashling Murphy,  Caroline and Nicola discuss the opening statement of prosecuting counsel Anne Marie Lawlor who outlined the State’s case against Jozef Puska, and how two days after her death, he confessed, telling detectives “I’m the murderer”...

In this second episode of The Trial, Ashling Murphy,  Caroline and Nicola discuss the testimony of Jenna Stack who came across Jozef Puska and Ashling Murphy in the ditch at Grand Canal way, Tullamore minutes before she died. They also recap a harrowing week for the Murphy family which included hearing post mortem evidence that Ashling’s voice box was cut during an attack which saw her receive 11 stab wounds which ultimately caused her death...

In this episode, Caroline and Nicola bring you the evidence the court heard about data on Ashling’s fitbit recorded the moment she was allegedly attacked. We also hear about a woman who told the court that Josef Puzka followed her to the canal minutes before he allegedly attacked and killed Ashling Murphy.

In this episode we hear about expert medical evidence which says that Jozef Puska was not under the influence of any drugs when he made his alleged confession on 14 January, two days after Ashling was killed. Emeritus Professor Michael Ryan of University College Dublin also pointed out that the abdominal surgery which  Puska underwent on the previous day was not ‘major surgery’ but was a keyhole diagnostic procedure...

In this episode Caroline and Nicola discuss the evidence of Jozef Puska who took the stand in his own defence on Thursday. His cross examination by Anne Marie Lawlor concluded on Friday afternoon when she accused him of concocting a pack of lies for the jury, a charge which Puska denied.
