Mark Whelan is not only the frontman and mastermind of Boston's death metal band Fuming Mouth, he recently became a cancer survivor. Mark beat a. rare form of blood cancer, acute myeloid leukemia (AML), during the Covid pandemic and had nearly the entire hardcore and metal scene come together to help him in his trying time. Now with all that behind him, Whalen has just released Fuming Mouth's second album with no plans of stopping in the future!
John Baizley is a founding member and guitarist of the Progressive Metal band Baroness. Josh Middleton is the guitarist and originating member of the UK melodic thrash/death metal/metalcore band Sylosis. Josh started the band in 2000 when he was just 15, the band released its sixth full-length, A Sign Of Things To Come, last week on Nuclear Blast Records. Josh also spent time in the British progressive metalcore band Architects, playing lead and backing vocals since 2017, only stepping down earlier this year to focus full-time on Sylosis.
Brendon Small is an actor, comedian, writer, director, producer, and musician. Small created the animated series Homes Movies in 1999 and also had a love for metal music. In 2006 both of those worlds collided when Small began to create Metalocalpyse, a show based around the fictional death metal band Dethklok, for whom Small writes the music for as well. Recently the Metalocalypse series was revamped for a feature film which was released in August along with a Dethklok material-heavy soundtrack.
James "Human Furnace" Bulloch has fronted the Cleveland-based thrash metal/metalcore band Ringworm for nearly 30 years, a part for the time the band went on a brief hiatus in the mid-90s. Ringworm has set the bar for heavy by releasing 9 full-lengths, most recently 2023's Seeing Through Fire.
