If current polling holds up, Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party's presidential nominee, could be on track to win more votes than any third-party candidate in two decades, but that might not ensure that he will be able to participate in the presidential debates.
"The fact that the Presidential Debates commission says you have to be at 15 percent in the polls, that's not law," says Johnson. "With 50 percent of voters... registered as Independents, where is the representation?"
